After having a fantastic experience and amazing results working with a personal trainer himself, Byron turned his passion for teaching and motivating others to the field of Health and Fitness. He began his career over 15 years ago as a personal trainer and has acquired over half a dozen nationally recognized Personal Trainer and Nutrition Certifications in order to serve a very vast spectrum of clientele. He has worked with internationally ranked Olympic & Ironman Triathletes, Junior Olympic Athletes, D1 to Pro athletes of many genres, as well as training the trainers of many of those pro athletes.
While athletic performance is still a welcomed challenge, Byron truly finds his calling helping people with cosmetic goals. Having had struggles with his physical insecurities through all of his high school and collegiate life, he made a commitment to better himself through the acquisition of knowledge and the ever slow change to a healthier sustainable lifestyle. After having reached and maintained his own personal fitness goals over 13 years ago, he loves to work with anyone wishing to reshape their body and take control once and for all. Anyone from fat loss, muscle gain, new and professional competitors, to simply leaning up before that coming event. If you know Byron, then you know there’s no room for fads or opinions in his programming. It’s simply the use of science within the parameters of your life – as it should always be.
All of this hard work and focus on those around him paid off both personally and professionally as after being awarded the company's Top Personal Trainer (out of 4,500+ nationwide) he was promoted to the position of Fitness Manager and ran his first club only 3 short years after he began his career in the fitness industry. Over the last 12 years Byron was promoted 5 times to larger clubs throughout Oregon and Washington, each time hiring, coaching and developing hundreds of trainers over the last decade consistently doubling each clubs' PT Business within 6-12 months.
Previously as the District Fitness Manager for Portland Sport & Spa, Byron oversaw multiple club locations, implementing fitness systems and protocols to create unparalleled PT department growth, all while staying on the front lines with his employees by training his own small group of clients. No matter how many clubs Byron managed, he never lost sight of his passion for changing one life at a time.
Recently Byron was the Corporate Account Executive for 24 Hour Fitness overseeing the 15 Oregon and Southwest Washington club locations as a corporate partner. He was only one of 20 CAE’s company-wide that cultivate long term Corporate Partnerships between 24 Hour Fitness and the thousands of neighboring businesses in the area.
At this time, as the CEO of FitEQ International, a company he created in March of 2017, whose mission is to elevate the science and integrity performed by Personal Trainers worldwide by use of his trademark protocol the “Fitness Equation”, Byron is simultaneously writing a self-help book on the topic of a no nonsense, no fads or opinions based approach to cosmetic change to be released in 2018. Along with his book, which is based wholly upon the “Fitness Equation” concept, his newly created fitness protocols are becoming nationally known and sought after by fitness chains coast to coast. He has spoken at hundreds of events, often as the keynote, and looks forward to taking his message to an international level.
Byron maintains his other passions for music and education by teaching the University of Oregon Drumline, maintaining his private music lessons with his students, and occasionally writing music at his home studio for various projects (commercials, live performances, game trailers, etc).
